The Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) is a large 501(c)6 trade association that represents the pharmaceutical industry. While it is expected that PhRMA would donate to groups that help the pharmaceutical industry, the American Accountability Foundation’s research has found that beyond that type of normal lobbying activity, PhRMA is funding a far-left agenda that is corrosive to American values and the American way of life. After reviewing PhRMA’s IRS form 990s from 2017 – 2021, our research has found that:
- PhRMA has contributed over $13 million to groups that support a liberal agenda.
- PhRMA has contributed $595,500 to groups advancing the radical LGBTQ agenda.
- PhRMA has contributed $180,000 to groups advocating for amnesty for illegal immigrants.
- PhRMA has contributed over $197,000 to labor unions or groups closely associated with labor unions. • PhRMA has contributed over $8.6 million to Center Forward, a group affiliated with the “Blue Dog” Democrats and that supports the DEI agenda and raising visa caps.
